Organization for Welfare Services is a people-oriented institution dedicated to socio-economic development. It is a non-political, non-profit, non-communal social voluntary organization working toward ensuring a better life for people. The organization is registered with the Department of Social Services under the Ministry of Social Welfare, Government of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh (Registration No. Rajsha-1158/21).
Bangladesh is a developing country. Compared to its population, the land area of Bangladesh is very small. Many people in this country still live below the poverty line. Poverty, illiteracy, unemployment, and recurring natural disasters have long shaped the lives of its people. To improve living standards, the organization plays a pioneering role in creating employment opportunities and reducing unemployment by providing vocational and technical education and training to unemployed women for self-reliance and to youth for skill development.
Through various programs and activities—such as child welfare, youth employment creation, women’s welfare and empowerment, family planning, welfare of physically, mentally, and socially challenged individuals, social education, healthcare, and recreational initiatives to discourage anti-social activities—Organization for Welfare Services continues its tireless service to humanity.
